Administrative building in Nova Gorica / City Municipal Hall in Nova Gorica

Nova Gorica was created as a substitute for the lost 'heart' of Gorizia after the Second World War. The goal of the new Municipal Hall of Nova Gorica was to provide the inhabitants of the Littoral with an administrative centre. Vinko Glanz designed the new administrative building with a monumental façade in the reference to the main square of Nova Gorica. Youth brigades from all over Yugoslavia started to build a new city. The Municipal Hall of Nova Gorica was one of the first constructed buildings – constructing the new town in sense of growing of a new government, a socialist democracy. The Municipality building was one of the elements which were never changed, it was a consistency in the growing city. Even today the Municipal Hall of Nova Gorica facilitates the same functions.
