1.1. Project background

The proposal has been generated on the basis of a common will of the project partners to explore the ways of a possible economic valorisation of their architectonical heritage stemmed from the totalitarian regimes of the XX century, starting from the fundamental assumptions that neither a cultural route and specific cultural-tourism products of niches were been designed, up to now, around this specific theme.

Municipality of Forli, which has a relevant heritage of the rationalist architecture of '30s, such as the provincial territory, was reflecting from at least a decade on this challenge (also supporting specialized researches and publications), cumulating knowledge and relationships with the pertinent entities, and hence a relevant critical mass. Recently it has promoted a technical-scientific Committee for the reuse and valorisation of the rationalist heritage. As logical consequence of this, it has originated the first proposal, enriched and refined thank to all the project partners involved.
